Like many people, my husband and I were skeptical of having an island wedding because we had to put all of our trust into someone who we had never met. I found Tiffany through the sunhorsesevices.com website and decided to give her a try. Tiffany has an intimate knowledge of the island and can easily direct you to the best spots if you don't already have something in mind. Tiffany and I corresponded regularly through e-mail and she did not hesitate to call me if I needed to talk to her. Still, we had no idea how the wedding would actually turn out until we arrived.

We met Tiffany for the rehearsal at Zama Beach Club the morning before the ceremony. My family was instantly put at ease by the pristine and secluded beach she had picked out. Later that evening we met again at a club called La Pena for the "welcoming party". All of our guests had arrived by then and it was phenomenal. Everyone was blown away by the fantastic over-sized wooden chairs and outside swings. The back of the bar opens to an ocean view adding to the dreamy ambiance. The dinner and drinks were fantastic. Any reservations our guests may have had about traveling to the island were alleviated instantly. The actual wedding ceremony was nothing less than perfect. Sabina, a local minister presided over our wedding. The flowers were abundant and brilliant and the ceremony was intimate. The water was gorgeous and the sun set right as we were saying our vowels. Afterward we had the reception under Zama's thatched-hut pavilion. We enjoyed a quaint dinner and champagne toast with a lovely tres leches cake for dessert. It was truly relaxing.
Tiffany did everything to design the perfect wedding for us. I was so inexperienced and nervous about the whole thing that I put everything in her hands. I gave her a few basic ideas of what I wanted and she did the rest. Tiffany has a unique talent and vision. She was accommodating with everything from music to flowers up until the last minute. We were so fortunate to have her arrange such an important event. My only advice is to relax, and leave it up to her. She will certainly give you an amazing experience.

One word for Tiffany and SunHorse: Unforgettable. That’s how a wedding day should be and not just for the bride and groom. It amazed me that I could actually pull off all our wedding plans through emails and phone with such great ease. Tiffany made it all possible and it made us feel comfortable knowing that she is from the states! We had a party of about 30 people and I can’t tell you the last time this group had that much fun. It really brought us all together in a way a hometown wedding could just not do. I’m guessing it was the magic of the beach and the beauty of the ceremony that put everyone in a happy place. Either way, it was perfect. I want to thank Tiffany and her photographers Cecilia and Pam, for creating such a beautiful wedding with pictures to prove it. Our reception at Zama’s overlooking Sac Bajo was perfect and intimate, just like a sunset wedding should be. If you’re thinking of getting married barefoot in Mexico, look no further. Isla Mujeres is the place to be.

Needless to say we were a little apprehensive picking a wedding planner sight unseen, especially learning that you split time between Minnesota and Isla Mujeres. Well, not only was the ceremony perfect but the reception was beautiful too. Every last detail, from the food, the musicians (Gregario was awesome!!!), the personalized maraca's as a wedding favor... everything was perfect. We simply could not have asked for anything more. Your 'locals only' and insider island information was invaluable (restaurants, snorkeling, scuba etc...). Please, don't hesitate to use us as a reference if you have anyone who is undecided... Ryan and wanted to thank you for all of your help with the wedding reception we had on the 25th of February. Everyone commented on how beautiful it was and had wonderful remarks for the set up, the food and the staff. Every time we talk to someone they tell us what a great time it was, how smoothly everything flowed and how everything was coordinated, so wanted to be sure that you got that feedback. It was so nice not to worry about anything that night, and you did such a wonderful job with everything. The candles were beautiful, the tables looked GREAT. We can't thank you enough for all of your help with this. We were very impressed with how you had everything taken care of by the time we arrived. The photographer and his assistant were so nice, and the pictures turned out good. We got them almost a week ago, so it was very timely in getting them as we got home from the honeymoon. “We had visited Isla Mujeres on a few occasions and loved it so much that we knew we wanted to have our wedding there. The beaches are the most beautiful you'll ever see, the people are supremely nice and accommodating, the town has everything you could want without being overpopulated with tourists, and everything is affordable. Since we live in New York, it would have been extremely difficult to plan the wedding we wanted on Isla Mujeres had it not been for Tiffany and SunHorse Weddings. She made our wedding into the wedding of our dreams, with no detail left without thought. We invited 65 people down for the event. Tiffany helped us secure rooms for our family and several of our friends, giving us tips as to where hotels were in relation to the wedding sites she had in mind. We had several over-the-phone meetings with her about what kind of service, food, flowers, drinks, music, and setting we wanted. After listening to us, Tiffany found the absolutely perfect beach location and even timed it so that we had the perfect sunset backdrop for our ceremony. The food, table settings, music, drinks, and even gifts for the guests were absolutely perfect. Tiffany clearly listened closely to us and even attended to details we would have never thought of, like making sure visitors to the beach didn't interrupt the wedding, cleaning the sand of seaweed before the ceremony, and other amazing little details. Tiffany was organized, incredibly nice, knowledgeable about the island, accessible at all times, and overall a dream to work with. She gave us the best day of our lives, and we'll never forget it. All our guests even said it was the best wedding they'd ever attended. We could never possibly thank her enough for the wonderful day she gave us. "Why I would recommend Isla Mujeres and Tiffany at SunHorse Services for a destination wedding: Isla Mujeres is a charming, laid-back island with Playa Norte being the most relaxing and beautiful beach. My husband and I invited 40 friends and family to join us for a simple yet meaningful ceremony to take place at sunset, February 2003.Planning a destination wedding can be a challenge without help. I contacted Tiffany only 2 months before the wedding date because the quote I received from the hotel was very high for flowers and music. Since Tiffany lives on Isla I was hoping she could help me with theses important details. Tiffany returned my e-mail promptly and I decided to use Tiffany as our wedding coordinator.
First of all, she recommended the best band on Isla for a reasonable rate. The day of the ceremony the band was professional, yet lively and fun. They played great acoustic music at our ceremony and our dinner reception. They were great! Next she said that there was a new local florist on Isla that would be able to arrange the flowers for a fraction of the cost I received from the hotel. I told her I wanted a "tropical bouquet" and e-mailed her a picture of lilies and roses. The day of the ceremony, Tiffany delivered my flowers. I received so many compliments on my bouquet. It was huge with yellow roses, and yellow lilies. The florist also made a cute flower head ring for our flower girl. Tiffany suggested lilies for my bridesmaids’ hair, which definitely completed the tropical look. My flowers were gorgeous!
Finally, I mentioned I wanted candles for people to hold but didn’t know how I was going to ship them form the US. Tiffany suggested a local artist paint sun symbols and attach them to white candles that are found in Mexico. These made a unique gift for friends and family after the ceremony. The day of the ceremony Tiffany was there to make sure the hotel had put tiki lights and luminaries out for our sunset wedding. The grounds looked amazing!
Tiffany really pulled everything together and made the ceremony special. A destination wedding in Isla Mujeres would be difficult to plan without a coordinator that lives on Isla. She always kept me updated with e-mails and answered my questions promptly. She was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend her to any couple wanting a beautiful wedding on Isla Mujeres.
